Bryan, excellent question and an ever better answer about the priority of a ministerial heart. I think the answer is somehow finding the opportunity where the open door matches our heart with one huge qualification. Our heart needs to be right and tuned to the heart of God. Not always an easy thing, but one that we should strive after.

Here's another question to throw into the mix: if Paul had stayed where the open door was in order to preach the Gospel, while he still had "no peace of mind," would he have been preaching the Gospel without a willing heart and under compulsion? Does it matter if he were to do so?

Great question to wrestle with. Ties in with the question of the legitimacy of something we do all the time, which is move immediately from "this is what Paul/the apostles did" to "therefore, all Christians should do it."
