Naaman wanted dirt because he thought gods were tied to specific plots of ground.  Every heathen Temple was permanent.  In contrast, the Tabernacle of Testimony showed that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (all of whom were nomads, btw) could move across the Earth whenever He wanted to.  It wasn&#039;t just a mobile home until God could afford something nicer.  God told Moses it was a picture of his true home in eternity.

Note, also, that the New Jerusalem is in motion when John describes it.  Just some things to think about...
